Augusten looks pretty thrilled that he has another kid to hang with. For those of you who don't know, Jaden is my dear friend Teresa's son - a great kid with tons of personality who I think will be very good influence on our son.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons
Yep, that's our boy listening to Vivaldi. He dropped all his toys to listen to the Spring opus. I'm serious. and then he didn't notice when I left for about 10 minutes. Who knows how long he would have played on his own if I hadn't returned and disturbed him from his deep appreciation of this particular piece of classical music. I'd even say its the first time he's really noticed music (I mean the kind that doesn't involve miming "the Wheels on the Bus").
Although we've seen this look before:
Speaking of wheels on the bus, we had our first swimming lesson today. He had a great time splashing and bobbing the water - he thought our splashy version of WoTB was particularly hilarious. I was pleased at how well he took to the water - almost immediately he started smiling and splashing and babbling along with the other babies. I also learned that swimming lessons with a baby requires two adults. The swimming part was easy, it was the changing into and out of swim suits that were the tough parts. Try changing both yourself and a baby who can barely sit up on his own in a change room full of other parents and babies getting out of wet swim wear. There was nowhere to put him down that wasn't soaking wet or covered in hair or other unidentifiable fluids. Next time all three of us will go - that way there will be some photos to share and two pairs of hands.
